3 Tips/Strategies for Living Your Fertility Journey With Confidence

1) Be Clear About Who You Are
A turbulent experience with fertility can be a bitter cocktail of heartbreak, self-doubt, and fear. We feel frustrated, confused, and inadequate. It doesn’t help that we can feel overwhelmed by information, advice, and guidance coming from all directions. At a time when we are most vulnerable, how can we be sure about ourselves, and our choices?
Get crystal clear on your values.
Make a list of what they are. Truth? Compassion? Financial responsibility? Your values are an infallible compass. Leading from your values empowers you to make the best medical, financial, and journey defining decisions for you. Others may not understand or approve of them, but that’s OK. Your journey = your values. Stay true to you.
2) Choose Your Support System Wisely
Infertility is a subject that still puts many people on edge. It’s intimate and can be shrouded in shame. As much as our family and friends may love us, our struggle with fertility is something they may or may not ever understand. They may say or do things that cause us pain. Forgive them. Open your heart to the possibility that the support you desire may come from a different source.
Invite those who are genuinely positive, non-judgmental, and have lived this experience into your journey. Surround yourself with people who will consistently support you in pushing past any limiting beliefs you may have. Being seen, heard, and accepted for our truth is an undeniably powerful confidence boost.
3) Decide To Love Your Life No Matter What
What if you knew you were going to love your life no matter what? Would your heart sing with confidence? Would you spend less time agonizing during the two-week wait? Stop comparing yourself to other women? Reduce the crushing pressure you put on yourself?
Making this decision can change your life. It is the gift of acceptance and boundless hope that only we can give ourselves. It takes the power away from the current circumstances of your fertility and places it squarely where it belongs…in your hands. Let it keep you focused on a simple, but pivotal truth: You are more than your fertility. Choosing this mindset created a miracle in my life. It has empowered the women I have coached all over the world. Explore how it can work for you.
